Patch 2.99.0: CCTV: cameras you can fit, record and play back

CCTV: cameras you can fit, record and play back (6 October 2026).

Released 6 October 2026. Back to the changelog. UCP patch notes.

Changes

  • New: CCTV cameras you can buy and fit yourself. DIY Depot's electronics aisle now sells four cameras: Basic ($350, colour, 20 m, no night vision), Night Vision ($750, infrared so it sees in the dark), Audio ($1,200, night vision plus a microphone that hears speech within about 10 m) and PTZ ($2,400, all of that plus you can pan and tilt it while watching live), and a CCTV Monitor ($500). Use one to place it with a ghost preview you can move, rotate and tilt. You can fit cameras in or outside a property you own or rent, a business where your rank has the new CCTV permission, or your faction's building if your rank can furnish it. Up to 8 cameras per property and 12 per person.

  • New: Cameras record whatever happens in front of them and keep it for 3 days. Playback rebuilds the scene from the camera's angle: people in the clothes they wore at the time, how they moved, cars with their colours and plates, every /me, /do, /ame and /my over the person who did it, speech and shouting on audio cameras, gunshots, people going down, and doors and cars being locked or unlocked. Masked people stay masked, basic cameras only pick up silhouettes after dark, and nobody's name is ever shown: people appear as Person 1, Person 2 and so on.

  • New: Watch from a CCTV Monitor (press E at it) or the new CCTV app on your phone. Watch live, or scrub back through any day on a timeline with play and pause, 1x to 16x speed and jumps to the next or previous event. The event list beside the picture can be filtered (people, actions, speech, violence, doors, vehicles) and searched for words in a /me or /do, things said, or a number plate.

  • New: Save moments as clips: mark an in and an out point and save it. Clips are kept until you delete them, even after the footage itself is gone. Share a clip with another player by their ID, or hand it to the police: it becomes evidence with an EVD number you can give to the officer.

  • New: Police: the MDC Warrants tab has a new CCTV button listing every camera within 150 m. Street cameras open straight away. Private cameras need a CCTV warrant, requested and approved like a device warrant, or the owner's consent, which owners can give for 24 hours, 72 hours or 7 days from their console. Clips officers save are logged as evidence with a chain of custody and can go straight into a case, and case files can play CCTV clips. Officers can reques
