Changes
New: Paleto Bay Pharmacy has opened next to Paleto Bay Medical Center. Maya Castell runs the counter, with every kind of over the counter pain relief (paracetamol, ibuprofen, aspirin, naproxen, co-codamol, gel), melatonin and sleep aids, cold and flu sachets, decongestants, cough mixtures, lozenges, hay fever tablets, stomach remedies, first aid, eye drops, nicotine patches and gum, vitamins, tests and a thermometer.
New: Pharmacist medicines like co-codamol, the night-time sleep aid and pseudoephedrine are limited to one pack a day, some have an age limit, and anything you are allergic to stays behind the counter. Medicines carry no sales tax, and every dollar goes to the Medical Center.
New: Prescriptions are now collected at Paleto Bay Pharmacy, whoever wrote them. Bring your ID card: only the named patient can collect, and you get a text on your phone when one is ready.
New: Ongoing conditions now get a repeat prescription every 7 days, issued automatically. Your first supply is free, then there is a flat $10 prescription charge. Supplies never pile up, and missing a dose only brings mild roleplay reminders.
New: Controlled medicines such as strong painkillers, sedatives and stimulants are checked properly: only senior doctors can prescribe them, there is an ID check every time, collections are at least 6 days apart, and everything is written into a controlled drugs register.
New: The character creator's health step has been rebuilt. It explains how prescriptions work, sorts conditions into categories, shows what each one means in play and which regular medicine it comes with, and lets you record allergies. A clear skip button is there if your character has none. Conditions you already have get their regular medicine issued automatically.
New: Doctors can prescribe from the emergency services portal: a searchable formulary, conditions and repeat prescriptions, allergies with clash warnings, cancelling with a reason, and a controlled drugs register tab.
New: Every hospital has a See a doctor button. The duty doctor examines what is really wrong with you, treats only real injuries, can prescribe antibiotics or pain relief when you need them, and can diagnose some ongoing conditions.
New: The hospital panel has been modernised with a triage badge, a Medicines tab showing where to collect, discharge summaries with fit note
