Banking and finance

Routing and account numbers, current and savings accounts, fixed savers and Premier, interest, bank cards and PINs, ATMs and branches, paying anyone with confirmation of payee, standing orders, statements, overdrafts, loans and your weekly payslip. For anyone with a character.

What it is

Every character starts with a current account at a Fleeca branch. It has a routing number that names the bank and the branch, such as FLC-01 for Fleeca Legion Square, and an eight digit account number whose last digit is a check digit, so a mistyped number is caught before any money moves. Companies and factions have accounts of their own with the same shape, and any account can pay any other by those two numbers, in a branch, at an ATM, from your phone or with a chat command.

Around that sit the things a bank does: savings accounts and fixed savers that earn interest, a Premier current account for people who move a lot of money, bank cards with a PIN for ATMs and shop tills, saved payees, standing orders that pay rent or wages on a schedule, monthly statements, an overdraft sized by your credit rating, and loans arranged with an on-duty banker. Branches keep hours; ATMs do not.

This guide is for the customer. Company and faction banking follow the same rules through their own panels and are covered in Companies and Factions and the MDC.

How to start

You already have an account. Type /bank to see it. To do anything beyond looking, you need one of three places:

  • An ATM. There are 74 across the map. Walk up to one and press E. You need your bank card in your inventory and a PIN on it.

  • A branch. Eight are open: Fleeca at Legion Square, Route 68, Paleto Bay, Hawick, Del Perro and Burton, Pacific Standard in the city centre and Blaine County Savings Bank in Sandy Shores. They open from 08:00 to 20:00 UK time; press E at the door for the full banking panel, and at the teller desk to pay in or draw out cash.

  • Your phone. The Fleeca app shows every account, the last ten transactions and a Pay sheet, and can find the nearest ATM. See The phone.

If you have never set a PIN, do it first: /setpin 4821 (choose your own four digits) or Cards in the bank panel. Without a PIN your card works at an ATM only after you set one there, and it cannot pay in shops at all.

Step by step

  1. Check what you have

Type /bank. Each account prints as a line with its label, type, routing number, account number and balance, followed by the nearest branch and whether it is open. The HUD shows the balance of your primary current account.

  2. Pay someone by account number

Ask them for their routing and account numbers, then type /pay FLC-01 41827936 2500 Rent for October. The bank looks the account up and shows a confirmation with the account holder's name, the type of account, the fee and your reference. Press Pay. Both statements carry the reference.

  3. Save them as a payee

Once you have paid someone you will pay again, /payee add Landlord FLC-01 41827936 saves the account under a name. /payee list prints your payees and /payee remove Landlord drops one. Payees also appear in the ATM's quick pay menu and the phone's Pay sheet.

  4. Use an ATM

Press E at the machine. Your card is read automatically and the keypad asks for your PIN. The menu offers balances, withdraw, quick cash of $100, deposit cash, quick pay to a saved payee, change PIN and the last ten transactions. Withdrawals are capped at $5,000 per visit and $20,000 a day; deposits at $10,000 per visit. Your PIN stays verified for five minutes at that machine.

  5. Visit a branch for the rest

At the door of an open branch press E for the full panel: Accounts, Pay, Payees, Orders, Statements, Cards, Branch and Open. Opening, closing and upgrading accounts can only be done in a branch. The teller desk handles cash up to $250,000 out and $1,000,000 in.

  6. Read your statement

The Statements tab shows 25 rows a page for any month in the last year, with outgoing amounts in red and reversed rows struck through. /statement 7936 2026-09 prints a month for the account ending in those four digits to chat, up to 50 lines.

Account types

You can hold up to six accounts, including up to three fixed savers. Every type except the treasury account a faction holds must be opened in a branch during opening hours.

Current is the account you start with. It can go overdrawn, carries your card and receives your payslip unless you choose another account as your income account.

Savings earns the branch's savings rate on the balance every day and pays it out on the first of the month. Money moves freely between your own accounts with no fee and no cap, so it is a good place to keep what you do not need this week. It has no card and cannot be drawn as cash; move money to your current account first.

A fixed saver locks a lump sum for 30, 90 or 180 days at the branch rate on the day you open it plus a bonus of 0.5, 1.25 or 2 percentage points. Nothing can be paid out of it until it matures, when the principal and every cent of interest move to your primary account and the saver closes. You can close it early from the Accounts tab, but you forfeit the accrued interest and get only your deposit back. The most you can lock in one saver is $50,000,000.

Premier is a current account for people with money on the move: no fee on outgoing payments, a daily cap of two million, an overdraft two and a half times the size of the standard one, an extra card, and half a percentage point extra on one linked savings account. It costs $1,500 a month, taken on the anniversary of the upgrade. Miss it for three days and the account drops back to a standard current account; extra cards freeze and the linked saver loses its bonus.

Paying people

/pay <routing> <account> <amount> [reference] pays from your primary account. Add from:1234 (the last four digits of another of your accounts) to pay from that one instead. The bank panel's Pay tab, the ATM's quick pay and the phone's Fleeca app all go through the same checks.

Confirmation of payee is the check that protects you. Before any money moves the bank looks the account up and shows you who holds it. If you typed a name that matches exactly, it proceeds. If the name you typed is close but not the same, it warns you and asks you to confirm a second time. If the name does not match at all it refuses. If you gave no name it simply shows you the holder and asks you to confirm. The lookup never reveals a balance.

Fees: a payment to someone else costs $15 plus a tenth of a percent of the amount, capped at $250, so $2,500 costs $17.50 and anything from $235,000 up costs $250. Payments between your own accounts and payments from a Premier account are free. A payment that would take you past your overdraft bounces with a $50 fee and nothing else moves. There is a three second cooldown between payments and a single payment can be at most $1,000,000.

/paycash <id> <amount> (also /givecash) hands physical cash to the player standing next to you, exactly as before. The old /transfer command now opens the bank panel on the Pay tab.

Standing orders and direct debits

The Orders tab holds two lists. Standing orders are payments you set up: a payee, an amount, a frequency and a first run at least an hour away, up to ten per account. The bank runs them every few minutes around the clock and lets them draw on your overdraft, so rent goes out even if you are asleep. An order that fails three times in a row is marked failed and stops; fix the balance and resume it. You can pause, resume and cancel from the tab.

Direct debits are the things the city already takes from you, listed so you can see them coming: property leases, mortgages, rent to a landlord, vehicle finance, personal loans, insurance renewals, tax and utility bills, the phone contract, flight tuition, the Premier fee and, for company owners, wages and payroll. The list is read-only; each one is managed where it was set up.

Cards and PINs

Your card is a sixteen digit debit card linked to one of your accounts. The Cards tab lets you see it masked, link it to a different account with cash access, freeze and unfreeze it, replace it for $25 if it is lost, and set or change the four digit PIN. /setpin does the PIN from chat.

Three wrong PINs in a row lock the card; it says so at the till and at the ATM, and a branch has to unlock it. Anyone holding your physical card can try to use it at an ATM, which is why the PIN matters and why you should freeze the card the moment you notice it gone. A shop till refuses a frozen, lost or stolen card outright, and a card without a PIN cannot pay in shops at all.

Overdrafts, credit and loans

Your current account has an overdraft limit set by your credit rating: $25,000 for Excellent, $10,000 for Good, $5,000 for Fair, $1,000 for Poor and nothing below that. Premier multiplies it by two and a half. A negative balance is charged 19.9 percent a year, added daily. Your rating moves with how long you have banked, whether your loan and bill payments arrive on time and how you use credit.

Personal loans are arranged with a Fleeca banker on duty at a branch, repaid weekly or monthly by auto-debit at a rate between 5 and 15 percent depending on the branch and your rating. /payloan <amount> makes a manual payment; a missed payment is a mark on your credit score. Credit cards, issued by the same banker, bill monthly with a minimum payment, interest between 12 and 24 percent a year on what you carry, and a late fee if you miss the date.

Your payslip

Every week the city pays a base wage into your income account: $5,000 if you belong to a faction or a company, $2,000 if you do not. Faction members in a duty faction (police, fire, medical and the like) must have clocked eight hours on duty that week or the payslip is skipped. A faction salary set by your rank is added to the same payment, and each company you work for pays its rank salary separately from its payroll account. The Accounts tab lets you choose which of your accounts is the income account.

Other money in and out

Earthquake Support Payment (English server). Every character created before 20:00 UK time on 25 September 2026 is paid a one-off $10,000 by the State, automatically, into their bank. It arrives with a phone notification and shows on the statement as "State of San Andreas: Earthquake Support Payment" with a reference starting SAG-ESP. There is nothing to apply for; see The State portal to check it.

Rigged casino (English server). Characters aged 21 or over can deposit money from their primary bank account into a wallet at the Rigged online casino and withdraw it back, from $100 to $100,000,000 a transfer. Both directions appear on your statement. See Rigged casino.

Tips

  • Give people your routing and account numbers, never your card or PIN. The numbers let people pay you and nothing else.

  • Type a name when you pay. An exact name match skips the extra confirmation; a wrong name stops a payment to the wrong account before it happens.

  • Keep spending money in the current account and everything else in savings. Moving between your own accounts is instant and free from the panel or the phone, and savings earns every day it sits there.

  • Interest lands on the first of the month. Open a fixed saver just after the branch rate drifts up and the snapshot stays for the term.

  • Check the Branch tab before opening a saver. Rates differ by a couple of percentage points between branches and the tab highlights the best one.

  • Set your rent as a standing order for the day after your payslip, with the reference the landlord asked for, and it will never be late.

  • Freeze a lost card from any branch or the phone before you replace it. The replacement is $25; an emptied account is worse.

  • Deposit cash regularly. Cash is lost when you are robbed and earns nothing; the ATM takes up to $10,000 at a time.

Worked example

WORKED EXAMPLE

Tomas Kovac has just been hired as a tow driver and wants his money to stop sitting in one account. On Saturday afternoon he types /bank and reads: Main (current): FLC-01 60433218, balance $6,240. Nearest branch: Fleeca Bank Legion Square (FLC-01), open until 20:00 UK time.

He walks into Legion Square and presses E at the door. The panel opens on Accounts. He goes to the Branch tab first: Legion Square pays 1.33 percent on savings today, Pacific Standard 2.70 and Hawick 2.73. Hawick is a five minute drive. He drives.

At Hawick he opens the Open tab, picks Savings, labels it "Rainy day", sets an initial deposit of $4,000 from Main and presses Open. The Accounts tab now shows two cards: Main with $2,240 and Rainy day with $4,000, rate 2.73 percent, accrued $0.00. He looks at the fixed saver card too, but the minimum is $5,000 and he has $2,240 left in Main, so that waits for next month.

Back on the Accounts tab he presses "Set as income account" on Main so the Sunday payslip lands where his card is. Then Orders: new standing order, payee his landlord (saved earlier as "Mrs Okafor", FLC-08 21873042), $1,200, monthly, first run Monday 09:00, reference "Flat 3 rent". The tab shows it as active with the next run date and a fee of $16.20 per run.

Sunday morning his payslip arrives: "Weekly payslip: Base $5,000" plus the tow company's rank salary as a second line. Monday at 09:00 the standing order runs and his phone buzzes: "-$1,216.20 Β· Flat 3 rent". On 1 October his Rainy day account shows an $8.97 interest line: small, but every month it is a little more, and he never had to remember to do anything.
