Patch 2.46.0: Mechanics and auto shops: paid work, callouts, your own garage

Mechanics and auto shops: paid work, callouts, your own garage (8 September 2026).

Released 8 September 2026. Back to the changelog. UCP patch notes.

Changes

  • New: Mechanics get paid for real work. Fitting or removing parts, servicing fluids and ECU tuning on a customer vehicle now sends the customer an itemised quote first (part, labour by catalogue minutes, shop rate). The job starts when they accept. 40% goes to the mechanic, 60% to the shop that employs them.

  • New: Roadside callouts. Stranded? /callmechanic <what is wrong> puts your position on every working mechanic's map. They take it with /mechanic accept, get a waypoint, and bill the callout fee with /mechanic done when finished. /mechanics shows who is open right now.

  • New: Roadside repair. A working mechanic can run /mechanic repair beside any vehicle to get the engine and body back to a drivable state without a workshop. Quoted to the customer like any other job.

  • New: Own a garage. Company owners can set an assigned business property to the new mechanic type (/setbusinesstype mechanic). Staff who clock on with /bduty are working mechanics: the parts, tools and fluids catalogue opens inside the shop on the company account, customer work is quoted under the shop name, LS Customs style customisation works on the forecourt, and /mshop sets the labour rate and callout fee and shows the last 30 days of jobs and top mechanics.

  • Balance: Only working mechanics can work on someone else's vehicle. Your own vehicle is still yours to wrench on for free.

  • Balance: Repair kits are a roadside patch, not a repair: they get a dead engine turning and close some bodywork, cap out well below healthy, and only work once per vehicle every ten minutes. Get it to a mechanic for the rest.

  • Balance: Working mechanics can hook vehicles with a tow truck, alongside police and government.

  • Balance: Faction mechanics at LS Customs are paid the same way as before, and their customisation invoices now show under the shop name. /mechanic stats shows your jobs and earnings.
