Patch 2.57.2: Masks, fishing and the red light district

Masks, fishing and the red light district (10 September 2026).

Released 10 September 2026. Back to the changelog. UCP patch notes.

Changes

  • Fixed: Masks put the alias on the wrong person. The client matched the masked player by the wrong kind of player id, so whenever a masked player had a server id matching your own slot number the swap landed on you instead of them: your name tag turned into their Mask_ number while they carried on showing their real name. Everyone in view now sees the mask on the person actually wearing it.

  • Fixed: Fishing refused to cast at the named spots. Each spot had a fixed compass bearing written down for "the water", and if you were not pointed within 75 degrees of it you got "You need to face the water before you can cast" no matter how much water was in front of you. That bearing is gone: the game now looks for real water ahead of you, the same way casting anywhere else already worked.

  • Fixed: The fishing spot rings and floating names were placed from old coordinates and ended up inside buildings and moored ships. They are gone; the map blips stay. You can fish anywhere there is water, so there was nothing left for the ring to tell you.

  • Fixed: Red light work: customers sometimes stood beside their car instead of sitting in it, because the game had not finished creating the car when the driver was put in it. The driver is now re-seated until it takes.

  • Fixed: Red light work: the doors on the customer car could end up locked, leaving you unable to get in and finish the job. The car is now held unlocked for as long as the customer is there.

  • Fixed: Red light work: the spawn east of Crusade Road was 167m from the middle of the district, well outside it, so serving a customer there counted as leaving work and ended your shift. That spawn is removed, and the server now warns on boot if any work spot sits outside the district.

  • Fixed: Red light work: the message after a deal now tells you to press G to get in.

  • Fixed: The Vanity Plate Token in the PP store charged 150 PP, then told you to use /vanityplate, which does not exist, and gave you nothing. RPP+ members were charged as well despite the store showing it free, because the discount was only ever drawn on the screen and never reached the server. The token is removed.

  • New: RPP+ now really does include free vanity plates. Standard plate styles in /plate cost 0 PP for members, which is what the subscription page has been promising. Premium styles still cost.
