What it is
Roleplay Project has four ways to ask for help, and picking the right one gets you an answer faster. Something happening right now in the city, a player breaking the rules, a character stuck in a wall, goes through the in-game report so an on-duty admin can come to you. Something broken in the game itself goes to the bug tracker so a developer can fix it. Something about your account, a refund, a legal matter or anything that needs a record goes through a support ticket on the UCP, which you can also open from Discord. Everything else is a question, and the wiki, the FAQ and the support centre answer most of those before you need a person. In game, F1 or /help opens this wiki, and /wiki <term> opens it on the best match.
Before you start
Make a note of when it happened, where, and the names of anyone involved. Admins and developers can pull logs, but a time and a place turns a ten minute search into a ten second one. If it is a rule break, /id gives you the game id of a player by name. For a bug, note what you did just before it and whether it happens again.
Steps
- Decide which channel
A player breaking rules, harassment, or you are stuck: in-game
/report. The game did something wrong (a vehicle vanished, a job did not pay, a prompt does nothing): bug tracker. Account access, a purchase or refund, a ban you want to discuss, or anything you want in writing: support ticket. A how-do-I question: F1,/helpor/wikifor this wiki, the FAQ or the support centre. - File an in-game report
Type
/report(or press F2 and choose Report). Pick a category: Player report, Harassment, Stuck, Gameplay bug, General, Question, Account or Other. Player report and Harassment ask for the player you are reporting. Write what happened and send./report <text>sends a quick general report without the form. - Wait where you are
The chat line confirms the report number, your place in the queue and roughly how long staff have been taking. Your position, the players near you, recent damage, recent chat and a screenshot are attached automatically, which is why filing from the spot matters. Harassment and player reports are picked up first. You get a chat line when an admin claims it, and they will usually message you or come to you. Do not log out; if the admin cannot find you the report is closed. You can carry on playing.
- Report a bug where developers see it
Open the bug tracker at bugs.roleplayproject.net and search first; if your bug is already there, vote for it and add your details as a comment. Otherwise post a new one with the title, what you expected, what happened, the steps to repeat it and the time it happened. Bugs are triaged by severity and developers work the tracker, not chat.
- Open a support ticket
Go to ucp.roleplayproject.net/support and choose New ticket. Categories: Info, Bug, Player report, Account, Refund and Other. Refund tickets ask for the character, the amount and what it was for. You get email updates and can reply from the portal. The same ticket can be opened from the main Discord's support panel; either way it is one ticket, visible in both places.
- Rate the outcome
When a report is resolved you are asked for a rating, and a closed ticket asks for feedback stars. Use them; if you were away when the report closed, rate it later from My reports in the support centre. The ratings go into the staff reviews, so a helpful admin gets credit and an unhelpful one gets noticed.
What to include
Channel | Always include | Helps a lot |
|---|---|---|
In-game report | Category, the player's name or id, one clear sentence | The time to the minute, the street or property |
Bug tracker | Title, expected versus actual, steps to repeat | A screenshot or clip, the vehicle or item involved, whether it repeats |
Support ticket | Category, your character, what you want to happen | Ticket numbers or report ids from earlier, receipts for refunds |
Discord ticket | The same as a support ticket | Your linked account, so the ticket attaches to your player record |

If it goes wrong
No admin picks up your report. At quiet hours there may be nobody on duty; the report stays in the queue with a reminder of your position, and off-duty staff are nudged when reports are waiting. For anything that can wait, a support ticket gets a written answer.
Your bug was closed as "cannot reproduce". Add the exact steps and, if you can, a clip. Bugs that happen once and never again are hard to fix; bugs that happen every time are fixed quickly.
You disagree with a decision. Do not argue with the admin in game. Open a ticket, or an appeal for a punishment, and lay it out calmly with the report id. Management reads every appeal.

Worked example
Sunday, 21:40. Maya Okafor is fishing off the Del Perro pier when a player in a red Sultan drives onto the boards, runs her over, backs up and does it again, then types "lol" in chat and drives off. No roleplay, no reason.
She types /id and finds the driver: Kev Dawson, id 41. She presses F2, Report, category Player report, player Kev Dawson, and writes: "21:40 Del Perro pier, ran me over twice with a red Sultan for no reason, no RP, typed lol and left." Send.
A chat line says the report is queued and two admins are on duty. She carries on fishing. Four minutes later: "Admin Tobias Reyes has taken your report." A private message asks if she is still at the pier; she says yes. He does not need her further and closes the report ten minutes later with a note that the player has been dealt with. She rates the report five stars.
The next evening her rod is missing from the property cupboard after a server restart. That is not a player and not urgent, so she goes to bugs.roleplayproject.net, searches "storage after restart", finds an open bug with eleven votes describing exactly that, votes, and adds: "Vespucci flat, cupboard, fishing rod and 12 bait gone after the 06:00 update on 21 Sep." A developer replies on the bug the next day, and a support ticket in category Refund, quoting the bug number, gets the rod put back.
