Patch 2.100.0: New ID cards with photo and fingerprints, civil offices in Paleto and on Coral Island

New ID cards with photo and fingerprints, civil offices in Paleto and on Coral Island (6 October 2026).

Released 6 October 2026. Back to the changelog. UCP patch notes.

Changes

  • New: ID cards are being replaced. Visit your office for a free new ID with photo and fingerprints. Old ID cards and passports with no photo and fingerprints on file are withdrawn when you log in (driving and weapon licences are not affected). Coral Island residents and citizens get theirs at the Coral Island office, so fly over; everyone else goes to the San Andreas Civil Office in Paleto Bay. Your GPS is set and a reminder stays on screen until you have your new card. Your first new ID is free, and so is a new passport if you had one; later replacements and renewals cost the normal fee.

  • New: Document photos are taken in a photo booth at the office: hats, glasses and masks come off for the shot and go back on straight after, you get a 3, 2, 1 countdown against a plain backdrop, then keep the photo or retake it up to three times. The photo is printed on your card; older cards keep the blank outline until they are renewed.

  • New: Coral Island biometrics: fingerprints are now required for visas, residence, citizenship and asylum claims, and an application is not complete until they are on file. Enrol at the scanner in the Coral Island office, with an immigration officer (/enrolprints), or at the LSIA departure desk; a visa or residence with no prints on file is not valid for entry. Prints go into the same register the MDC searches, so matches show where they were taken, for example Coral Island immigration (tourist visa CIV-T-...). If your prints are already on file they are linked, not taken again.

  • New: Coral Island Immigration & City Office in Puerto Coral (blip on the map). Speak to the clerk at the counter or use the self-service kiosk beside it to check your immigration status (visitor, visa holder, resident, citizen, overstayer, no permission, asylum seeker or banned, with the dates and reasons from the Government's register), pay Coral fees, and apply for, renew or extend a visa, a residence permit or citizenship. Applications go straight onto the Government website, where the Department reviews them as usual.

  • New: Declare that you are on Coral Island without permission, and claim asylum if you fear persecution. Immigration officers book interviews, grant refugee status (with a residence permit and any reporting conditions) or refuse, and refusals can be appealed within 3 days. While an asylum claim or appeal is pending, officers cannot
