Changes
New: Apartment complexes are here. Walk up to the blue marker at a building entrance and press E to open the lobby. The lift lists every floor with what is to let, the rent, the deposit and the size of each apartment. Residents and keyholders go straight up, visitors can ring a flat and wait to be let in, and anyone can view a lease or take a tour of an empty apartment.
New: Moving in is a normal tenancy: sign in the lobby or through Dynasty 8, pay the first month and the deposit from your bank, and rent is then taken every month and the tenancy renews by itself. Your apartment works like any home: lock it, furnish it, store things and give out keys. Important tenancy letters such as notices, missed rent and a new landlord now also arrive on your phone in the Dynasty 8 app.
New: Buildings can be owned by a player, by a faction, or run by the state. Owners run theirs with /apartments: set rent for a floor or a single apartment, take flats off the market, ask for a minimum credit score and approve applicants, see occupancy, arrears and rent after tax, serve notices and evictions, and sell the whole building, tenants included, to a player standing next to them. Rent reaches the owner minus the government sales tax share, and state buildings pay the city.
New: For staff: /createcomplex, or Apartment complex in /createproperty, builds a complex in five steps: the building and its entrance, floors and rooms (a lobby floor with no rooms, two penthouses at the top, an interior and rent for each floor), rent and rules, the owner, and a preview of every apartment before it is created. /complexes edits a building later (add floors or rooms, change interiors or rents) without touching existing tenancies, closes it, or deletes it, which is refused while flats are let unless forced with deposits and unused rent refunded.
Fixed: The old Adam's Apple Blvd apartments in Mission Row now work. Their 144 flats had no way in; they are now real apartments behind a lobby and the existing tenancy carries on with the same rent, deposit and due date.
