What it is
Every 24/7, the DIY store and the kiosk at each fuel station share one storefront. You walk to the counter, press E and get a shop screen with a category rail, a search box, item cards with an icon and a price, a detail pane that says in plain words what an item does, and a basket you pay from with cash or your bank card. Chain loyalty cards earn points on every purchase, weekly deals knock a fifth off six items at a time, and every checkout prints a receipt you can keep.
Fuel is physical. The pump screen picks a grade and how you intend to pay, then you carry the nozzle on its hose to the filler cap, fill while a strip on the HUD counts litres and dollars, and hang the nozzle back up before you pay. Drive off with the nozzle still in and the hose snaps, your car takes damage and the forecourt cameras send your plate to the police. Jerry cans fill at the same pump, electric cars plug in with a cable, and a station with an attendant on duty can serve you at the pump.
This guide covers the customer side of all of it, the small business of owning a store as far as a shop owner needs to know, and the scratchcards sold at the till. Type /shops in game for the handbook, which always shows the numbers the server is using today.
How to start
You need nothing to shop. Walk into any 24/7 (there are thirteen, from Strawberry to the new 24/7 Paleto Boulevard), a DIY store (Davis, Paleto Bay, Harmony and Sandy Shores), or the kiosk at any fuel station, find the counter and press E. At a kiosk whose counter stands within reach of a pump, E works the pump and H opens the shop instead. /gps lists several of them, including 24/7 Paleto Boulevard and every DIY store.
25.70, -1347.30The busiest 24/7 in the city, a short walk from Legion Square
620.80, 268.50Station kiosk: snacks, jerry cans, EV cards and fuel tickets
184.91, 6619.46The newest 24/7, on both servers
-325.96, 6228.40Moved to a new building. Tools, camping gear and the Quasar Q1
On the English server the town fuel station in Paleto Bay has been removed for a rebuild. Paleto Bay Highway and Paleto Gas still sell fuel nearby.
To fuel a vehicle you need the vehicle within 8 m of a pump, you out of the driver's seat and within 3 m of the pump, and money in cash or on your bank card. Prices are shown per litre on the pump screen and the grade that fits your car is marked. A wrong grade is allowed for roleplay but it will contaminate the tank.
Open the handbook with /shops (also /shophandbook and /storeguide). It has Stores, Owners, Pumps, Items and Safety sections.
Step by step
- Open the storefront
Stand at the counter and press E. The header shows which chain you are in, whether staff are on duty and whether self checkout is on, and on the right your loyalty tier and points. The rail down the left lists categories with counts; Deals is always first when the store has any.
- Find what you want
Use the search box or a category. Each card shows the icon, the shelf price and, where the store tracks stock, how many are left. A deal badge shows the discount and the struck-through old price. Tap a card for the detail pane: the description, a "What it does" line (for example "Restores 15 health" or "Faster stamina regeneration for a while"), weight, stack size and the points the purchase earns.
- Build a basket
Add to basket from the detail pane or the plus on the card. A basket holds up to 20 lines with up to 10 of each. The basket totals the subtotal, your savings from deals and tier discount, points redeemed if you tick "Use points", and the total to pay.
- Pay
Press Pay. The normal payment modal offers cash or card; a card needs its PIN. At an owned store with staff on duty and self checkout switched off you get "Call staff" instead, and the cashier accepts your order from their till. If the store cannot give you everything because your inventory is full, the lines that did not fit are refunded on the spot.
- Keep the receipt
The receipt modal shows the lines, savings, points used and earned, a twelve character receipt number and how you paid. "Print receipt" puts a paper receipt in your inventory with that number. It is off by default; tick it when you want proof of purchase for a landlord, an employer or an insurance claim.
Loyalty, deals and receipts
Loyalty is per chain, and joining is free from the storefront header. The chains you will meet are the 24/7 stores (one chain across all thirteen), the DIY depot, and the four station brands: Globe Oil, Xero, RON and LTD. Points come at the store's rate per dollar spent, which is 1 point per dollar at every NPC store and between 0 and 3 at player-owned stores, depending on what the owner sets.
Tier | Lifetime points | What you get |
|---|---|---|
Member | 0 | Points on every purchase, redeemable at 100 points to the dollar |
Silver | 2,000 | 2 percent off every basket after deals |
Gold | 10,000 | 5 percent off every basket after deals |
Points are earned only on what you actually paid for and received, never on the part of a bill you settled with points. The tier discount is applied after deal prices, and points can then pay the rest down to zero.
Deals come in two kinds at NPC stores. Six weekly picks at 20 percent off change every Monday and are the same at every store in the chain, so the deal you saw in Morningwood is also on in Sandy Shores. Daily specials at 15 percent off run on up to four items and change each day. Player-owned stores do not carry the chain-wide weekly picks; their owners set their own deals of 5 to 50 percent for 1 to 14 days, labelled weekly, manager's special or daily. A deal price is never below $1.
Fuel pumps step by step
- Pull up and get out
Park with the filler cap within reach of a pump, get out and stand within 3 m of the pump. The prompt reads "Use pump". If you still have unpaid fuel in the tank from an earlier fill you are told to settle that first.
- Choose a grade and how you will pay
The pump screen shows your plate, tank level, the station's reserve and each grade the station sells with its price per litre. The grade that fits your car is marked "fits"; the wrong one says "wrong fuel". Pick quick amounts of $10, $25, $50 or $100, or fill the tank. Then pick an intent: pay at pump, pay in store (a ticket you settle at the kiosk), EV card (electric only) or attendant (only while one is on duty).
- Take the nozzle
"Take the nozzle" closes the screen and puts the nozzle in your hand on a hose that reaches 6 m. Walk to the filler cap. If you stray too far the prompt tells you the hose will not reach.
- Fill
Within reach of the cap press E. Fuel goes into the tank as it is pumped and a strip above the hotbar counts litres and cost live. E again pauses; a full tank clicks off on its own and the prompt reads "Tank full". The strip warns you when the station's reserve is low.
- Hang up
Press E at the pump or Backspace anywhere within hose reach. A fill of zero litres simply cancels the session.
- Settle
What happens now depends on the intent you chose. Pay at pump reopens the screen on a Pay page with cash, card and, for a faction vehicle you may drive, the faction account. Pay in store shows a ticket code and the fuel stays in the tank; settle it at the kiosk (the storefront shows the pending ticket and adds it to your basket), from the Pay a ticket tab of any pump at that station, or with
/paypump <code>within 40 m. EV card debits the prepaid card with 10 percent off. Attendant works like pay at pump, with the attendant told who they are serving.
Jerry cans and electric vehicles
An empty jerry can costs $20 at a kiosk or $15 at the DIY store. The pump screen's Jerry can tab fills it with 20 litres of regular or diesel at the grade price, charged to your bank at once. Using the full can next to a vehicle pours at a litre a second for up to twenty seconds per use, capped by the room left in the tank; moving away cancels the pour. Diesel poured into a petrol car contaminates the tank exactly as the pump does. A can used with no vehicle in reach but a placed generator within 3 m fuels the generator instead. When it runs dry it turns back into an empty can.
Twenty litre steel can. Empty.
An electric model at a pump sees the EV screen: only the Electric grade, battery percentage instead of tank level, a kW label and a charge curve. The cable behaves like the nozzle, with a crackle at the socket while charging, and the strip reads Cable out and Charging. Pay through the normal pay-at-pump path or with an EV Charge Card, which is $10 at any kiosk and is topped up at the kiosk storefront in $25 steps through the card's Top up action. Paying by card takes 10 percent off the charge, and if the card does not hold enough the pump falls back to pay at pump.
Prepaid charging card.
Owning a store
A 24/7 can be bought by a person or a company, and a station kiosk belongs to whoever owns the station. Ownership changes how the storefront behaves: stock is real and arrives as freight through wholesale orders instead of the free depot restocks NPC stores get, your loyalty rate and self checkout are your settings, chain weekly deals are off, and every sale routes to your account.
/shopmanage (also /managestore) within 8 m of your store or 25 m of your station opens store management with eight tabs.
Tab | What it does |
|---|---|
Overview | Revenue today, this week and total, receipts today, loyalty members and scratchcard prizes paid out |
Pricing | Your price multiplier and per-item sale percentages |
Deals | Create a deal of 5 to 50 percent for 1 to 14 days with a label, or cancel one |
Shelves | Take lines on and off the shelf and set their order; off-shelf lines cannot be bought or pocketed |
Staff | Your employees, the self checkout toggle, and for a kiosk the attendant wage of $8 to $50 an hour |
Loyalty | Points per dollar, 0 to 3 |
Till | Pending orders from customers who pressed "Call staff", to accept or decline |
Ledger | The last 50 receipts, the last 50 pocketing attempts and, for a kiosk, the last 50 drive-offs |
A station company member can clock in as forecourt attendant with /attendant within 30 m of the station. While on duty the pumps offer the Attendant intent, you are told who you are serving, and each settled sale pays you a 2 percent tip from station revenue on top of the hourly wage the owner set. Walking off the forecourt for two minutes, standing still for fifteen or disconnecting clocks you out. An attendant counts as staff for the kiosk, so customers cannot pocket goods while you are there.
Scratchcards
Three cards are sold at the till and rolled the moment you use them; the reveal is just for fun and a card you close or drop the connection on still pays.
Card | Price | Sold at | Chance of a win | Top prize |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Lucky 7s | $2 | kiosks and 24/7s | about 1 in 14 | $1,000 |
Gold Rush | $5 | kiosks and 24/7s | about 1 in 35 | $25,000 |
Motor Millions | $10 | kiosks | about 1 in 24 | a car voucher for a random Sultan, Kuruma, Jester, Elegy, Comet or Banshee |
Cash prizes land in your pocket at once. The car voucher, used from your inventory, grants the prize car as a delete-only vehicle, which means you can drive and keep it but never sell it. Each character can open 25 cards in a rolling 24 hours, and the lottery ticket at the 24/7 plays as a Lucky 7s card.
Scratch three panels. Match three sevens to win.
Useful things on the shelves
The new shelves carry more than snacks. A few lines worth knowing about:
Energy drink ($3 to $4): faster stamina regeneration for ten minutes and a slightly faster sprint for five. Coffee gives fifteen minutes of focus. A chocolate bar heals a little and tops up stamina for two minutes.
First aid pouch ($35 to $40): three uses, each a bandage and 15 health, on you or the person you are treating. Plasters ($4) bandage one minor injury.
Engine oil, coolant and brake fluid: top up a vehicle you have keys for within 3 m. Duct tape, rope and zip ties restrain and gag through the same system the police use; see the item's "What it does" line and
/ziptie,/untieand/gagtape.Camping gear from the DIY store (tent, tarp, stove, lantern, generator, work light) is placed on the ground in front of you and picked up again with
/camp. A generator burns a litre of fuel every ten minutes and powers lights within 15 m.Phone charger and power bank: charge your handset in a running vehicle or a powered property; see The phone.
Portable GPS ($200 at any 24/7): the minimap only shows while you carry one and the minimap setting in the HUD tab of
/settingsis on.The Quasar Q1 games console ($1,800) and extra Quasar Pads ($180) are on the DIY Electronics shelf. See TV and Games Night.
Antibiotics: on the English server 24/7 stores no longer sell them. They are prescription only; see a doctor and collect them at the Paleto Bay Pharmacy, which also sells over the counter medicines. See Hospitals and medicine.
Meal deals unpack into a sandwich, a drink and a snack; the water 6 pack unpacks into six bottles. Both are refused and refunded if they do not fit.
Tips
Deals are the same across a chain and change on Monday, so a deal you spot at one 24/7 is on at all thirteen. Daily specials differ by day.
Pay in store when you want to keep the fuel and settle inside with your shopping: the kiosk basket adds the ticket as a line and you pay once.
Keep an empty jerry can in the boot. A dry tank in Blaine County at night is a long walk, and the can fills at any pump for the grade price.
The pump strip goes amber when the station's reserve is under 15 percent. Stations are restocked by tanker deliveries; if one is empty, try the next.
Set a PIN on your bank card before you rely on it in shops. A card without a PIN cannot pay at a till; see Banking and finance.
If a store owner has self checkout off and no cashier is answering the till, come back later or use an NPC store. The order sits in their Till tab until they accept or decline it.
Paper receipts have real uses: a landlord can ask for proof of a purchase, a mechanic can check a part was bought, and a stolen item has no receipt at all.

Worked example
Dana Reyes is heading north to Paleto Bay with a friend and a quarter tank. She pulls into the Downtown forecourt, gets out and walks to the pump. The screen shows her plate, 31 percent in the tank and the station reserve at 74 percent. Regular fits her Asterope at $0.925 a litre; she picks "Fill the tank" and "Pay in store" because she wants crisps for the road.
"Take the nozzle" puts the pump handle in her hand. She walks the hose round to the filler cap on the rear quarter, presses E and watches the strip climb: 12.40 litres, $11.47, 23.10 litres, $21.37. The tank clicks off on its own at 41.20 litres and the prompt turns to "Tank full". She walks the nozzle back and presses E at the pump. A toast reads "Pay at the kiosk, ticket 4F2A9C11", and the fifteen minute clock starts.
At the kiosk counter she presses H (E is taken by the pump here) and the storefront opens with a banner at the top: "Fuel ticket 4F2A9C11, $38.11, added to your basket". She joins the Globe Oil loyalty scheme from the header, adds two salted crisps at $2 each and a Motor Millions card, and ticks nothing else. The basket reads: fuel $38.11, crisps $4, scratchcard $10, total $52.11. She pays by card, enters her PIN, and the receipt shows 52 points earned. She takes the paper receipt because her friend is paying her back for half the fuel.
Back at the car she scratches the card. Two panels match and the third is a wrench: nothing this time. Her friend, meanwhile, has an empty jerry can from the DIY store and fills it at the next pump with 20 litres of regular for $18.50, charged straight to his bank. They will not need it, but the Great Ocean Highway has stranded better drivers.
